This is a very nice scale and it seems to be very accurate. The only complaint that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the fact the the "tap" to turn it on is more like a "kick start". You have to be pretty firm but other than that I like it.

I purchased these scales but they would not turn on when tapped. The only way the scales would turn on would be to elevate the top edge about an inch or so and them let them drop. I replaced them with another set - same problem - sent both back

So I've had this for several months now, and I don't have any major complaints. I've read people complaining about having to tap it fairly hard to get it to turn on. But seeing as it doesn't need any time to zero itself out... you can just step on the scale, there is no need to tap first. If you spend the time to read the instructions its controls are simple to use. The fact that it lights up in the dark is nice too! When I'm feeling self-conscious after having raided the fridge at 2am, I can check my weight and not be blinded by the bathroom light, or give away my position to any would-be stalkers in the area...
